Privacy Policy

Effective and last updated: September 18, 2026

About this policy

Frame is a photo and video border editor for iPhone and iPad provided by mingrammer. This policy explains the data used by the app. Frame does not require an account and does not include advertising or cross-app advertising tracking.

Photos, videos, and local editing

Frame processes photos and videos on your device. Video borders are a Pro feature; video frames and audio are processed locally. The system photo picker or file picker gives Frame access to the files you select; Frame does not browse your entire photo library. Selected source photos or videos, editing settings, trim and audio preferences, and the current draft are stored in the app's local storage. Finished exports and thumbnails are retained in the in-app library until you delete them.

Frame does not upload your photos, videos, or audio to us or to RevenueCat for editing or purchases. Some original images may contain embedded metadata; selected source copies can retain it locally. Newly rendered exports do not copy source location or camera EXIF metadata. Saving creates a new photo or MP4 video and does not modify the original. Original audio is included in video exports unless you mute it.

Signature text and display preferences are stored locally and become visible text in rendered results when a signature is applied. Current versions do not extract camera/lens, exposure or capture-date values when importing photos, and do not render shooting-information captions. Older local drafts may retain values extracted by previous versions. Appearance preferences only change the app interface.

Saving, sharing, and device backups

Saving to Photos places new exports in an album named Frame. iOS requires Full Access to the photo library to create or find this album, so Frame requests read-and-write photo permission when you save. Limited or add-only access cannot be used for this album feature; you can use Share to export a file instead. Frame looks up the Frame album and adds newly created photos and videos to it; it does not scan or upload unrelated photos. Sharing sends the exported file only to the destination you choose in the system share sheet. That destination's handling is governed by its own policy. Photos and videos saved to your photo library may sync through iCloud Photos according to your Apple settings. App data may also be included in system device backups. Frame does not provide its own cloud photo storage or synchronization service.

Usage analytics

The iOS app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand app use and improve editing and export features. It records app launches and sessions, selected styles and media types, export counts and dimensions, Pro screen views, and purchase or restoration outcomes. The SDK also processes an app-instance identifier, app and device information, approximate location derived from masked IP addresses, and in-app purchase events. We do not send photos, video, audio, file names, signature text, or contact details to Analytics.

Advertising identifier (IDFA) and vendor identifier (IDFV) collection, advertising storage, advertising personalization, and automatic screen reporting are disabled. We do not set a personal user ID or link Analytics to an advertising account. Google processes analytics information under its privacy policy and Firebase privacy information, potentially outside your country. Analytics records follow the property's retention settings; deleting the app does not immediately erase previously collected records. Contact us about applicable access, objection, or deletion rights.

Frame Pro purchases

When purchase services are configured, Frame uses Apple and RevenueCat to offer, validate, and restore Pro access. RevenueCat may receive a randomly generated app user identifier, purchase records and entitlement status, and relevant app, device, store, locale and currency information. This supports purchase validation, restoration, fraud prevention, and purchase reporting. The SDK can contact these services to check available products or existing access even before a new purchase is made.

Apple processes payment details; Frame does not receive your card number. Frame does not send photos, videos, audio, names, email addresses, or advertising identifiers to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat's privacy policy, its Apple privacy documentation, and Apple's privacy policy.

Preferences and support

Language and saving preferences are stored on your device. If you email support, we receive your email address and the information you choose to send, and use it to respond. Please do not send private photos unless needed for your request. Opening a website from Frame may send standard web request information, such as your IP address and browser information, to that website and its hosting provider.

Retention and deletion

You can delete finished photos and videos from Frame's library. This does not delete copies already saved to Photos or shared elsewhere. Removing an image from an editing session does not remove its original from Photos. Deleting the app removes its local data; system backups and exported copies must be managed separately in their respective locations. Offloading an app can retain its data.

Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase records according to their policies and applicable obligations. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription. Contact us for requests concerning support correspondence or purchase-related data we control; we may need information to locate an anonymous purchase record.

Your rights and security

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, restrict, object to processing, or request deletion of personal data, and to complain to a relevant privacy authority. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising. Purchase-related processing supports delivery of Pro; support information is used to handle your request. Service providers may process information outside your country under their applicable data-protection arrangements.

Local data benefits from Apple's app sandbox and device protections. Purchase service connections use HTTPS. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.

Children and changes

Frame is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can address it. We will post changes to this policy here with an updated date.
